Hakomi: Consciousness and Healing
Hosted by Hakomi Trainers
Join us for a three-day retreat dedicated to learning Hakomi, a practice based in somatic inquiry resulting in deepened awareness that can shape who we are becoming.
“Perhaps the best use of consciousness is to put ourselves in situations on which our adaptive unconscious can work smoothly. This is best achieved by recognizing what our non-conscious needs and traits are and planning accordingly”. Wilson, 2004
The Hakomi method is founded on the idea that “consciousness is choice” and that habitual behaviors are generated by beliefs, attitudes, and past experiences that are mostly outside of consciousness. By bringing into awareness the ideas that inform how we live and how we relate to others, it becomes possible to make changes in the direction of healthier living and happier relationships. Therefore, the point of the method is to reduce unnecessary suffering.
We welcome anyone who wishes to learn about Hakomi to join us in some small-group activities while enjoying the beautiful surroundings at Bethlehem Centre and their wonderful meals.
